Holiday Gifts

Shopping for gifts is one of the most nerve-racking experiences. Especially for men. Most don’t even like to go shopping let alone thinking about gift ideas. With the pressure on, it’s important to start thinking about what you are buying. When it comes to gift wish lists, electronics continue to rank high. However there are other great options. Picking something for that special lady is a task in itself. But, buying for one of your buddies, brother or father is truly a real challenge. My advice, stay away from the typical presents; tie, socks and slippers. Here are what I’ve compiled as my top gift ideas for men this holiday season.

1. Tablet Computers

If you don’t already have one, you should add this to your wish list. Tablet computers are becoming more popular because of its lightweight styling and ability to do all the things you need to get done on the go. The iPad revolutionized the market and several versions are out there from the Samsung Galaxy to the Blackberry Playbook.

2. Cameras

Cameras are still a great gift item. Samsung has developed a new compact camera with 18x superzoom. It also has a flip-up screen so you can see all those self-portraits you’re taking and posting online. This model is the Samsung MV800 and was recently featured at the IFA 2011.

3. Televisions

A new flat screen television still ranks quite high especially for the sports enthusiast who wants to watch the big game at home. Cinema style screens are becoming very popular because you get the theatre experience right in your own home. If you can afford to splurge on this for someone or maybe yourself this is a gift you know will definitely be used.

4. Smartphones

Smartphones are like walking computers. They have the power to do so much. Ever since the Blackberry, smartphones have just gotten better over the years. The iPhone and Androids on the market continue to push the limits on what technology can do. With new models introduced to the market so frequently these days you can definitely find something new for a holiday gift.

6. Leather Tablet Cases

Tablet computer usage is on the rise and that means increased demand for stylish accessories to carry it in. The Bleecker Legacy leather tablet case by Coach is made with quality craftsmanship. It retails at $198 USD and is sized perfectly for the iPad or for digital readers like the Kindle.

7. Watch

A man of great style knows how important his shoes and his watch are. Why not give a timepiece to someone special like your father, uncle or perhaps a mentor who helped shape your life. With so many varieties available, consider his lifestyle before you make your choice. A sportsman would have different needs than a man who spends more time in a business environment.

8. Sports Tickets

Men love sports. Give the gift of tickets to see your buddy’s favourite team. Or perhaps your father has been dying to see his home team play and hasn’t been able to score the seats he wants. If you can afford to get seasons tickets! Who knows, maybe he will bring you along to the games. That’s the added bonus to this gift!
