The Anti-Obama ABC – Herman Cain

Tea Party NH

Claiming he is not an African-American, rather a Black American because the roots of his heritage are to slavery in the United States, Herman Cain (the ABC – American Black Conservative) is campaigning to run against President Barack Obama in the next US election.

Cain is a self-proclaimed “CEO of self”, who professes that his very humble beginnings in the segregated southern United States were by no means an excuse or indicator of what the self-made millionaire CEO would achieve in life, regardless of his skin colour. Cain, who was former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza also served on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, believes his business acumen make him a suitable presidential candidate in the next election. This despite a failed campaign in 2004 for the U.S. Senate.

Cain has assumed the position of the black candidate in a predominately white party. He has been criticized for allowing for Republicans to oppose America’s first black president without seeming racist. His decision to run has become a point of major contention with civil rights activists and politicians alike.

This controversy began a war of words between Cain and several prominent blacks in America including Georgetown professor Michael Eric Dyson told Newsweek Magazine: “He’s the black that white people would prefer over Obama, and he’s the black man who is more like them and who thinks like them. He makes them feel they aren’t racist because they support him at this level and not Obama.” Actor and activist Harry Belafonte referred to him as a “bad apple” in an interview with HLN’s Joy Behar, to which Cain retorted with “He’s been on that banana boat for too long”.

This banter only adds fire to Cain’s offensive on the Obama administration and his road to vying for the presidency in 2012.

Does Cain have your vote?

What Do Black Men Want? Justice for Trayvon

Stories of the untimely deaths of young black men have become so commonplace in America, at some level I'd become desensitized to it, or so I thought.

Obama in 2012: Not Because He Is Black

It’s easy to discount the remaining candidates on the Republican side. Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul are beating up on each other for the right to take on a weakened incumbent.

What cain will soon realize is that the republicans and the tea party will never have his back. Thats when his world view will change and he will finally become “authentic” – until then, whether he likes it or not, he’s a pawn.
